Product
liability cases arise when the manufacturer of a product is accused of
introducing a design defect, improper instructions or warnings, or overlooking
some other aspect of the item which results in personal or economic injury.
An important question is often whether the injured party was using the
product in a responsible manner, and evaluating this requires reconstructing
the accident scene using all available data. In many cases, formal accident
investigations are not even conducted, and even when they are spatial
relationships and other information that can be important to a case aren't
recorded. Photographs of the scene, which often exist in the absence of
any other data, can reveal important details. Ebert & Associates employs
digital image processing to bring out to the greatest extent possible
evidence in photographs or video taken at accident scenes, and photogrammetric
mapping techniques to locate objects and features accurately with respect
to one another to aid in experts' analyses and presentation in court. |
